Since my last post, we were out of lockdown from mid June, just in time to celebrate my hubby’s 40th birthday. We didn’t have a party, just going out to an igloo restaurant was special enough, and happy we could be out somewhere to celebrate. Then, just as the Delta variant (originated from India) has been raging overseas, and increasing in NSW, removalists who crossed over to the Victorian border infected a household and it started spreading in VIC again. Then, just as we know it, we were back into harsh lockdown no. 5, originally a snap lockdown from mid July for 5 days, but it was extended another week. Our kids had been under the weather so they were home with us most of the lockdown while we were working. It wasn’t until just this Thursday that we were out of lockdown no. 5, no 5km restrictions, but some restrictions remain for another 2 weeks (with no visitors in the house allowed) and reduced capacities in restaurants and venues. We jumped at the chance to be able to enjoy a brunch out (with a really old friend) just in case there’s lockdown no. 6!
Luckily my hubby had his first dose of the Pfizer vaccine and will be getting his 2nd dose. I’m still waiting for mine to be offered. The message is that the more that are vaccinated, the more we can stay out of lockdowns… fingers crossed this is the case and we get that ‘magical’ number of vaccinations…
Here’s some picd of the 40th bday lunch and brunch post lockdowns (little things like going out to a restaurant that we used to take for granted)
