The staycation starts

So I’ve finally logged off work last night, after a full week of work, had our colleague’s baby farewell over zoom, and started the Easter holiday ‘staycation’ today for a whole week! So what do we do? Get our flu shots of course. It felt like such an accomplishment though, that our whole family made the ‘essential’ trip to the doctors and all received the flu shots today. When we booked the appointment yesterday, the GP told us that they had run out of children’s flu shots, and had to come back the following week.

However, when my husband and I went to get ours done (the GP was great with the social distancing measures, no-one was waiting in the waiting area, all required to have masks on, all docs had gloves on) there were available shots for the kids too! We went in one at a time, myself with the toddler, my husband later with the baby (13 months old) who also needs a booster a month later. The kids were so well behaved and did not cry one bit! We rewarded them with getting some easter eggs and chocolate bunnies for upcoming Easter 🙂

So there has been some positive news on the corona-virus front, last week, they also announced free childcare if you have kept your child enrolled and if you’re working even though you’re keeping your child at home. Our childcare centre has finally confirmed and gap fees are waived from this week. Apparently the curve is flattening but we are still under lockdown and the message for the Easter holidays is to ‘stay indoors’.
