Remain calm and be kind

I have been mentally and physically drained. Not only is it a busy time of the year at work, we’ve had to adapt quickly to a new way of working as well as managing the kids at home while I work. I’m not going to lie, it’s been an exhausting week, and when I turn on the news (which I’m planning to limit), it’s grim, more cases growing and deaths, currently Victoria has over 600 infections now, and economy will be greatly impacted with many businesses closing – we are waiting on Stage 3 stricter lockdown announcement.

I’m focusing on being kind to each other and getting through this one day at a time, supporting each other. A lady from church came around with children panadol that I wasn’t able to get on the shelves, and in return I gave her a small hand sanitiser bottle (very rare these days)! My husband’s Aunty also came around and dropped off cooked dinner and some essentials for the kids, I was so appreciative of it.

Also, my colleague is currently pregnant (it must be so tough being pregnant during these times) and I really wanted to put together a special baby hamper for her going away present, so I sent around a virtual card through group together for colleagues to contribute and sign. It feels better that we’re still able to spread kindness in these tough times.
