This week had been particularly challenging, especially the disruption to my children’s routine as they have been away from childcare.
I was trying to find a way to keep my toddler on a routine while I work at home. I came across some free visual card schedules on the internet for toddlers and thought it would be a great idea to get my child involved with organizing his day and following through with the routine.

After the kids’ nap, I realised we hadn’t been out and about all week, so I thought after being cooped up for so long, we took a relaxing walk to the library (although closed), returned books we had held on to via the outside returns shute, and took a trip to McDonald’s next door as my toddler kept asking for a ‘Happy Meal’. I thought McDonalds would be closed during this shutdown, but surprisingly, it was still open and we were able to get a treat (which we really needed) – something I had taken for granted pre-corona virus!
